Chrysler Hall is the premier performing arts venue in Norfolk, Virginia, located in the downtown section of the city. Built in 1972 and located next to the Norfolk Scope arena, the venue is home to the Virginia Symphony Orchestra, the Virginia Ballet and hosts Broadway plays while serving as Norfolk’s primary theater and concert venue. RFS Architects was commissioned by the city to design a VIP Suite to be used as an assembly area for special events and private gatherings associated with activities held at the center. The project involved the renovation of 2,000 SF of existing space located on the 3rd floor. The new space consists of a lounge, custom bar, service areas, and restrooms. RFS Architects provided project programming, design development, interior design, graphic rendering, and preparation of construction documents for the complete renovation of the Chrysler Hall VIP Lounge. The project included asbestos abatement, demolition, new finishes, new fixtures, new lighting and new multi-colored LED accent lighting.
